Die große Orgel der Votivkirche braucht Ihre Hilfe!
Die geschichtsträchtige Orgel in der Votivkirche wurde 1878 von der renommierten Orgelbaufirma E. F. Walcker gebaut und von Anton Bruckner begutachtet. Namhafte Komponisten und Organisten haben dieses Instrument geschätzt, gespielt und als Klangideal verwendet. Das Instrument befindet sich glücklicherweise nahezu im Originalzustand und
gilt als eine der bedeutendsten Orgeln Europas.
Zur Erhaltung dieses bemerkenswerten Kunst-und Musikschatzes wurde
im März 2023 der Verein Freunde der Walcker Orgel gegründet.
Ziel des Vereins ist es, die anstehende Generalsanierung des Instrumentes
zu finanzieren, damit dieser spezielle Orgelklang für die Zukunft erhalten wird.

The Grand Organ at Votive Church needs your help!
The organ in the Votivkirche epitomizes the late nineteenth century
artistry of the German organ builder E. F. Walcker. The organ was
inaugurated in 1878 by Anton Bruckner, and has been played and
cherished by celebrated organists and composers.
Astoundingly, the decades and centuries have protected the organ from changing tastes and destruction such that the organ is more or less in original condition, and is truly a piece of Ringstrassen history of the most unique form. The immaculate voicing and preserved substance places the organ as one of the best representations of late German Romantic organ building style and thereby a unique cultural treasure for Austria, Europe and
the borders beyond.
The Friends of the Walcker Organ Association was founded in March 2023, with the task of restoring organ. The goal of the association is to finance the pending renovation of this instrument and support performances where this instrument can be heard.
